Reminder: Klaviyo Users, Last Chance to Update.

Klaviyo Users, this is your last chance to update. Image of smart phone with email from Klaviyo announcing changes.

Klaviyo is retiring its Legacy V1/V2 APIs on June 30th, 2024.

OUR CLIENTS HAVE ALREADY BEEN TRANSFERRED, ARE YOU UP TO DATE?

This is your reminder that if your business relies on Klaviyo for marketing, make sure you’re up to date! Failing to migrate before the deadline could disrupt features like customer segmentation, consent management, and much more.

If you’re familiar with the recent transition from Google’s Universal Analytics to GA4, the situation with Klaviyo is quite similar. Just like Google required users to move to GA4 to continue tracking and analysing web data, Klaviyo users need to switch to the new APIs to maintain functionality in their marketing tools.

If you’re using Klaviyo to integrate with Magento 1, Magento 2, SFCC (Salesforce Commerce Cloud), PrestaShop, or WooCommerce, you’ll definitely need to update to the new APIs. These integrations currently depend on the old system, and not updating will cause issues with managing your customer data. If someone else built or manages your e-marketing, it’s definitely worth reaching out to them to confirm they’ve handled the update.

You’re also definitely going to need to change over if you’re utilising Klaviyo’s mobile SDKs. Older versions rely on the legacy APIs, so ensure your apps are using the latest versions. The Klaviyo website has loads of helpful resources to guide you through this process, including migration strategies and a comparison of the old and new API versions.

Migrating to the new APIs isn’t just about avoiding disruptions (although that’s a really big part!); it’s about making the most of your marketing activities. The new APIs offer better performance, improved data management, and lots of new features, helping you engage your customers more effectively.

Make the switch now to keep your marketing running smoothly, and while you’re at it, check out Klaviyo’s updated capabilities!
